Before You Play Badland

Badland is a 2D platforming flying game about guiding a creature through various tunnels by using the mouse or keyboard. Click the Left Mouse Button to flap your wings or press the Spacebar. With each flap, the creature gains a burst of height while moving forward. When not flapping, the creature will drop quickly. The goal is to get the creature safely to the end of each tunnel by reaching an escape tube at the end. The main dangers that the creature has to deal with are environmental. The most prominent is the screen which will start scrolling after the creature from left to right the moment that they start moving. If it catches up to the creature, you'll be sent back a bit in the level. Other hazards include things like falling rocks which can block your path and buzzsaws that can rip through the creature. The creature is also affected by physics like gravity, momentum, and force which can affect its movement. While going through the levels, there's a chance to come across strange glowing objects. Touching them will affect the creature in various ways. They can cause the creature to become larger, smaller, multiply, or change how they interact with the environment. Collecting these objects is necessary for navigating certain parts of the levels. Their effects won't wear off unless an object with the opposite effect is collected.
